Scotty wants to build a Playatech DJ booth. I asked him to send me his plans so I can take a look. He gave me this file (DJ-Dope-Assy)
I spent a few hours in Fusion and came up with the following. I only needed 13 variables.
The DJ booth uses two sheets of 1/2″ plywood, packs flat and requires zero tools or screws to assemble. The structure is 46 inches tall by 67 wide by 28 deep. The DJ deck sits 41 off the ground. The usable area for the DJ deck is 60 inches wide by 24.5 inches deep.
I figure this is a first iteration so I did not want to spend too much time on the small details. I’m guessing we will cut this next week at the Alameda FabLab, put it together and give it a test. I’m a little skeptical as to if it will be sturdy enough. I will add some simple joinery to stiffen it up if needed.
All in, two sheets of imported 1/2″ shop-grade birch from Moore-Newton runs just about $80. If this works, I definitely think it will be worth the investment! Who couldn’t use a sturdy and simple to assemble (only 7 parts!) flat-pack table for under $100?
Feedback is appreciated.

Update #1: Jemma suggested I add two hand slots in case we want to strap multiple ones together. Great idea. Done!
