Musically Mad

This is a great documentary that explores the growth of the Sound System culture in the UK.

We are building a similar community here with Little Bass Heads Sound System. Ours is quite different, of course.

1) For starters, we believe in equality and promote women, LGBTQ and other marginalized people at all times.

2) Second, we play diverse music. While plenty of us use roots reggae as our foundation, we have zero interest in finding an MC who wants to toast on the microphone all night.

3) Third, we are looking for alternative places to gather. Clubs just don’t work for what we are trying to do. While we may occasionally bring our systems into an established music venue, we are focused on creating community at all hours of the day – not just late at night.
