Mike shares some THAM feedback

I sent Mike this THAM thread.

Mike replies:

I think I read this post years back.

He is using some great drivers that we can’t easily get in the the USA. The drivers are also incredibly expensive now. That 4592 horn is something like $800 for each one. With what he’s doing, its not …

THAM 15

Sulaiman and Morgan have been throwing this wonderful Days Like This Friday after-work gig by Lake Merrit for months now. Being that we are Little Bass Heads, Mike and I decided that they needed some more bass (ya’ think?!?) The design specifications we used are as follows:

1) Powered off 12 volts

This is critical …

Bike Party 08-24-21 (Fusion Local File)

Sulaiman has built a 200 Ah LiFePO4 battery pack using these battery cells that is simply fantastic!!

We have standardized on these 16Ah batteries for inside the systems because they are cheap and weigh only 4 pounds. The East Bay Bike …

Bike Part – 07-21-21

Download the Fusion 360 file (here)

I changed up the handle on the Bike Party box. The system now includes a single metal “bar handle” on the top and two inset hand-holds on the sides. This should make the box stronger, easier to carry for one person and trivial to carry with two.

Is that Ulan-proofed?

I set the CNC table on fire Friday. It got really bad because our two fire extinguishers were empty. I ended up throwing water on the 9″ diameter burn. If the flame retardant stuff hadn’t worked, we could have lost the table.

I built the new Bike Party system (complete with the charred door …

Mike has some thoughts

Mike played around with the Bike Party system from 11-12-20 and shared the following thoughts.

From source to speakers

Head unit: All head units clip no matter the quality/price point. While this is annoying, once accepted as fact, it becomes easier to configure amplifier gains and expectations accordingly. Our particular Pioneer unit does not like …

Updates and birthdays

Over the last week I have made lots and lots of edits to the design from tiny to rather large. And I have gone to two wonderful birthdays. One was for one of the youngest members of my family, Anzani Mlaudzi, and the other was for one of my dear mentors, Deborah Small.

Life …

Battery Tech

This is all new to me. Here are a some links that have helped me understand battery technology a little.

1) Difference Between Lithium Ion And Lithium Iron Phosphate Batteries

2) Batteries: Lithium-ion vs AGM

The concept of discharge capacity is new to me and something that I had not considered when designing this mobile …
